GUARD FOR AN ANIMAL'S TAIL

A guard (400) for an animal's tail for use on a raised bedding area, the guard having at least one tail supporting member (402) adapted for holding an animal's tail out of contact with animal waste material adjacent the raised bedding area, thereby generally preventing the animal's tail from becoming soiled, the tail supporting member being moveable between a storage position and an in-use position in which the tail supporting member supports the animal's tail, the tail guard also comprising means for moving the at least one tail supporting member between the storage position and the in-use position, whereby when an animal lies down on the bedding area, the tail supporting member is moved into the in-use position and when an animal stands up, the tail supporting member is moved into the storage position.
