<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for inkjet recording that can form an image approximately equal to a printed matter required for a color proof, an on-demand color printing or the like by an inkjet method and to provide an inkjet recording method. <P>SOLUTION: The ink composition for inkjet recording comprises a dispersion medium and charged particles containing at least a coloring material and a coating agent for the coloring material wherein the ink composition includes a polymer soluble in the dispersion medium which has (a) a mass average molecular weight of 1,000-50,000 and (b) a dynamic modulus of elasticity at 50°C of 5×10<SP>5</SP>Pa or more and at 100°C of 1×10<SP>3</SP>Pa or more.
