METHOD FOR MIXING CONTINUOUS YARNS

The invention relates to a method for varying the working capacity of a continuous yarn. Said method is characterised in that the continuous yarn is first combined with an additional continuous yarn, whose force-extension behaviour differs from that of the first yarn and that said first yarn is then entangled with the additional continuous yarn(s), preferably at an increased temperature. Finally the first continuous yarn and the additional continuous yarn(s) are subjected to a twisting process, or after entanglement to a subsequent thermal treatment, in which the filaments of the entangled yarns fuse partially or completely. Alternatively, after entanglement, the first continuous yarn is twisted with the additional continuous yarn(s) and said yarns are then subjected to a subsequent thermal treatment, in which the filaments of the entangled yarns fuse partially or completely.
