The filter, designed to remove pollutant particles from a circulated fluid, such as hydraulic fluid, consists of a filter element (7) that can move with the flow of fluid through an inner cavity (4), and a shut-off element (8) that stops the circuit's flow selectively when the filter element becomes too blocked. The shut-off element is closed by the movement of the filter element along a retaining member (10) that offers an initial resistance, and is prevented from returning by a spring (17). The shut-off element itself is made up of a sealed partition (12) that is joined to the filter element and moves with the fluid flow relative to a seat (16c) on the end of an axial tube (16) through which the fluid circulates.
