PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a general method for completely or partially blocking, augmenting, sealing, or filling biological lumens and voids within the body of a patient. SOLUTION: The method for completely or partially blocking, augmenting, sealing, or filling the biological lumens and voids within the body of the patient involves a step for administering an effective amount of a biomaterial into the biological lumens or voids. Preferred biomaterial is selected from the group consisting of a protein, a synthetic protein, a glycosaminoglycan, a proteoglycan, a polymeric hydrogel and a mixture thereof.
