PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain improvement of image processing efficiency by attaining reduction of processing time, power consumption and memory capacity in image superimposing processing. SOLUTION: A format converting unit 10 includes a superimpose image region selecting section 12 and an arithmetic processing section 13. The superimpose image region selecting section sets a threshold value for determining whether or not the region is required for a superimpose image, when superimposing a plurality of image data, and selects an image region based on the threshold value. The arithmetic processing section 13 operates the selected image region using a conversion coefficient and converts the YUV format and RGB format of the image data. An image superimposing unit 20 writes a plurality of format-converted image data in a memory and generates a superimposed image and outputs it. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
