PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic shutting device of a sliding door capable of securely resetting an air damper to a brake-waiting posture and provided with a catching mechanism realizing noiseless motion by mechanically separating and rejoining a door panel and an air damper. SOLUTION: In an automatic shutting device of a sliding door having a driving source of a constant force spiral spring unit 10 and a brake element of an air damper 11, Separation and rejoining of a guide rail 1 and a door panel 2 is made so as to carry out by mechanically constituted catching mechanism. The catching mechanism includes a catching tool 23 fixed to a guide rail 1 and a shaking body 25 charged to the air damper 11 side to fit to/remove from the catching tool 23, and a catching base 24 pivoting the shaking body 25. By obliquely deforming of the shaking body 25, the shaking body 25 is engaged without collision with the catching tool 23 to avoid generation of collision sound. The engaging condition of the shaking body 25 and catching tool 23 is securely kept even when the door panel 2 is abruptly opened by mechanically attaching/detaching the shaking body 25.
