PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid tank which is equipped with a remaining-quantity-of-liquid detecting means capable of surely determining that ink reaches a predetermined amount or less, while serving as a simple and compact remaining-quantity detecting means. SOLUTION: In an ink tank (liquid tank) 1, a ceiling part of an ink storage chamber 6 for directly storing the ink 15 is provided with an information storage element 301 and a remaining-quantity-of-ink detecting module 400 equipped with the information storage element, which has a light reflector 444 facing a vertically downward part. A case 4 of the ink tank 1 makes light incident into the light reflector 444 from an external infrared light projecting/receiving module 51 which is composed of a transparent resin, and makes the reflected light incident into the module 51, so that the quantity of the light can be measured.
