<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dielectric ceramic composition having high volume resistance product under high electric field intensity while keeping high dielectric constant, excellent bias characteristic and high reliability and suitable for a ceramic capacitor. <P>SOLUTION: The dielectric ceramic composition is prepared by adding a main additive comprising CaO-MgO-MnO-Ln<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>(where, Ln is one or more kind elements selected from Ho, Y, Yb and Er) and a sintering assistant expressed by (Ba<SB>1-y</SB>Sr<SB>y</SB>)<SB>b</SB>SiO<SB>2+b</SB>(where, 0≤y≤1.0 and 0.8≤b≤1.2) into a main composition comprising a compositional formula of (Ba<SB>1-x</SB>Ca<SB>x</SB>)<SB>a</SB>TiO<SB>2+a</SB>(where, 0≤x≤0.02 and 0.998≤a≤1.005) and the quantity of the constituents in the additive is controlled to 0.1-3 mol CaO, 0.3-2.5 mol MgO, 0.05-0.5 MnO, 0.2-2.0 mol Ln<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>per 100 mol (Ba<SB>1-x</SB>Ca<SB>x</SB>)<SB>a</SB>TiO<SB>2+a</SB>of the main composition and the quantity of the sintering assistant is controlled to 0.3-2.0 mol per 100 mol (Ba<SB>1-x</SB>Ca<SB>x</SB>)<SB>a</SB>TiO<SB>2+a</SB>of the main composition. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
