<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the appearance of a connection part of a roof lining and a pillar garnish and to smoothly guide an air bag deployed without increasing the number of parts. <P>SOLUTION: Since the end edge 38a of the roof lining 38 is engaged with a roof lining engagement groove 39g extending along a side surface at the pillar 12 side of the upper end of the pillar garnish 36, a gap of the connection part of the pillar garnish 36 and the roof lining 38 is eliminated to enhance the appearance. since an air bag deployment guide wall 39h extending from an upper end at the pillar 12 side of the roof lining engagement groove 39g to the outside of a cabin 35 is provided and an air bag module 19 is arranged at a position clamped by the pillar 12 and the roof lining 38 above this, the inflating air bag 21 is guided toward the cabin 35 side such that it is not caught on the upper end of the pillar garnish 36 without providing a particular guide member, and the roof lining 38 is certainly pushed and opened to deploy it into the cabin 35. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
