PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To pick up a clear image having no blur while an object is moving. SOLUTION: An image pickup device to be provided on a moving object is provided with an image pickup unit for picking up an image; a speed measuring unit for measuring the speed of the moving object, a displacement calculating unit for calculating the displacement of a region indicating the object existing in an image angle of the image pickup unit, in an image to be picked up by the image pickup unit in an exposure time of the image pickup unit, on the basis of the speed; an image pickup magnification rate changing rate calculating unit for calculating a changing rate of an image pickup magnification rate in the image pickup unit for compensating the displacement; an image pickup magnification rate control unit for controlling to change the image pickup magnification rate at the changing rate; and an image pickup timing control unit for causing the image pickup unit to pick up an image while the image pickup magnification rate is changing at the changing rate.
