PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently perform peeling work without damaging a fingertip or a hand by a peeler which can be stably held even by a user with a small hand like a child and with which a posture at the time of peeling relative to a vegetable or a fruit to be peeled can be stabilized and fixed as well. SOLUTION: The peeler is provided with a blade member 10 in a long length shape and a holding member 20, a first part 20a of the holding member 20 is provided with a part 22 spread at the upper part of the blade member, and an opening part 29 through which the thumb of the user can pass is formed at a second part 20b. At the time of use, since the thumb which passes through the opening part 29 presses one side of the holding member 20 and the other side of the holding member 20 can be pressed by the other part of the hand of the user at least at two parts, the peeler A can be held in the hand in a stable posture.
