PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve with a genuineness discriminating function and a genuineness discriminating method for the valve that easily and securely discriminate between a copy and a genuine article to prevent, for example, a copied valve from being distributed and so on. SOLUTION: The valve with the genuineness discriminating function is characterized in that a genuineness discrimination body 6 for deciding whether the valve is genuine is provided on a handle 3 itself for valve mechanism operation or at a position of characteristic information of the valve, such as the brand name, nominal diameter, applied fluid, opening/closing direction, materials of respective parts, shape, amount, application temperature, etc., of the valve, nearby the handle 3.
