PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ECU for an airbag with high reliability not erroneously inflating at initial checking and usual time and not non-inflating the airbag at determination of collision. SOLUTION: The airbag ECU comprises an ignition driving circuit 30 or 40 in which a main transistor 32 or 42 arranged in an upstream side or a downstream side of squibbs 15L, 15R and flowing a large current for ignition to the squibb at ON time and a sub-transistor 34 or 44 only for flowing a small current for checking to the squibb at ON time are arranged in parallel; a switch 50 or 55 capable of switching it to a main position for turning ON the main transistor or a sub-position for turning ON the sub-transistor; a micro-computer 60 for determining danger of collision of the vehicle; and a mode switching means 65 for retaining the switching switch to the sub-position at the initial checking and the usual time and switching it to the main position at determination of the collision by a signal from the micro-computer.
