Hollow structural block for wall of building - is in plan and uses basal cross wall notches keyed to bed joints and interlocked with vertical joints

The building system uses standard wall blocks of a hollow rectangular plan with a mid-point cross-wall. Jointing mortar is obviated, with chamfered complementary edge rebating providing bed joint interlock, and with dovetailed mortice and tenon vertical joints. Half rounded notches in cross-wall bases aid handling and afford continuity of the cavity, special units being used at corners, at T joints, and for internal partitions. Corner cells may contain reinforced concrete columns tied into ring beams located by 'U' section components at floor and eaves levels. Notches may allow certain units to house onto the lintels of a bowler hat cross-section which may also notch into other units to serve as floor joists.
