PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine capable of maintaining excellent ignitability to improve combustion performance, capable of avoiding discharge of white smoke contained in the exhaust gas and allowing a heat exchanger to be miniaturized in volume thereof by quickly raising temperature of cooling liquid in an air cooler, an oil cooler and a water jacket when starting an engine. SOLUTION: In this internal combustion engine, the cooling liquid flowing in the air cooler for cooling air to be supplied to the engine and flowing in the water jacket of the engine is cooled by circulating the cooling liquid in a heat exchanger, in which cooling medium flows, to cool the cooling liquid with the cooling medium. Two heat exchangers are provided, and a low-temperature side cooling system is structured to form a circulation passage, in which the cooling liquid circulates between one low-temperature side heat exchanger and at least the air cooler and a high-temperature side cooling system formed of a circulation passage, in which the cooling liquid circulates between the other high-temperature side heat exchanger and at least the waster jacket.
