PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a separator extremely decreasing thermal shrinkage even in overheating and enhancing reliability while various kinds of practical characteristics of a lithium ion secondary battery, a polymer lithium secondary battery, an aluminum electrolytic capacitor, and an electrical double layer capacitor are well kept without damaging workability and productivity. SOLUTION: The separator for an electronic component comprises a porous substrate made of material having a melting point of 180°C or above and a resin structure installed on at least one surface and/or the inside of the porous substrate, and the porous substrate and/or the resin structure have/has a melting point of 180°C or above, or contains filler particLes having practically no melting point.
