The compression device is located on and driven by the cutting blade (22) inside the mower. Two pistons are located on the blade. The first piston (23) is drawn back and the cut grass is collected in the collection space (26). On the discharge side (27) the second pressing piston (24) is pushed forward and presses the cut matter into a pressing channel(28) and then into the container (29). The pistons are moved over rollers in a guide lane on the cover plate of the mower casing.
