PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transformer in which rated capacity is increased as compared with conventional one, or size of a device is reduced. SOLUTION: A transformer has a transformer tank 3 that stores a transformer body, and a case 1 that has a ceiling ventilating window 22 and a side-face ventilating window 21, and includes an air channel 5 for air flow from the window 21 to the window 22 through a side face of the tank 3; wherein the transformer tank 3 is configured in a way that a corner 31 of the tank facing the air channel 5 is chamfered.
