<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide barium titanate particles capable of retaining satisfactory reliability and electrical properties even if a green sheet filled with the barium titanate particles is made thinner as dielectric layers in a capacitor are made thinner and highly stacked, and to provide a method for manufacturing the barium titanate particles and a ceramic capacitor using the particles. <P>SOLUTION: An aqueous ammonia solution is added to 0.077 mol, in terms of Ti equivalent, of an aqueous titanium tetrachloride solution to obtain titanium hydroxide gel, 0.154 mol, in terms of Ba equivalent, of an aqueous barium hydroxide solution is added to the titanium hydroxide gel in an atmosphere of nitrogen to prepare 0.3 mol/kg, in terms of BaTiO<SB>3</SB>, of a slurry, and this slurry is charged into an autoclave and subjected to hydrothermal synthesis at 200°C for 96 h to obtain the objective spherical tetragonal barium titanate particles having high dispersibility, an average particles diameter of 0.20 μm, a particle size distribution of 0.21, a uniformity of 0.91, a circularity of 0.83, a D<SB>50</SB>to D<SB>TEM</SB>ratio of 1.3, a perovskite crystal structure with a crystallographic axis ratio c/a of 1.008, and a Ba to Ti ratio of 0.99. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
