The sheet of mineral wool is wound around a cylindrical core element (1) assembled of an inner (2) and an outer pipe (3). The inner pipe (2) has a conical inner area (4, 5) at both of its outer ends for the insertion of matching plugs (6, 7). One of the plugs (7) is provided with a duct (9) for guiding a hot gaseous substance into the center of the drum (1) while the drum is rotated. The inner pipe (2) is provided with a multitude of larger holes (10) while the outer pipe (3) is completely perforated with miniscule openings (14) facilitating an evenly distribution of the heat onto the layer of mineral wool.
