<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer sheet which can satisfy requirements for the high density and high quality of a thermal transfer image and shows an improved transfer sensitivity in a printing process. <P>SOLUTION: In the thermal transfer sheet having a heat-resistant lubricity layer formed on one surface of a base and an adhesive layer and a dye layer sequentially formed on the other surface of the base, a water-soluble resin containing active hydrogen and a water-soluble curing agent are added to the adhesive layer. Thus the adhesive layer is cured by a curing reaction between the active hydrogen and the curing agent during drying after the coating of the adhesive layer and the adhesion of the base with the dye layer is enhanced. In addition, as the adhesive layer is formed of a thin film, the thermal transfer sheet and an image receiving sheet are superposed over each other and the thermal transfer sheet is heated by a thermal head from the back side. Consequently, a sublimation dye effectively migrates to the image receiving sheet side from the dye layer, and especially a high-density print which shows high transfer sensitivity in a printing process, is obtained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
