PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning device of a liquid jetting apparatus wherein a cleaning cycle is improved and the amount of a cleaning liquid is reduced as much as possible, and cleaning can be completed in a short time, and a cleaning method of a liquid jetting apparatus. SOLUTION: The cleaning device is provided a fluid feeding unit 100 defining a cleaning object space 39 ranging from a liquid introduction part 31 of a liquid reservoir means 49 to a nozzle opening 11, provided with a coupling structure 41 to be removably coupled with the liquid introduction part 31 and alternately feeding air to the space 39 and the cleaning liquid to the space 39, a suction means 101 for sucking a liquid, the cleaning liquid and the air in the space 39 and a controller 63 for executing feeding control so that the next cleaning liquid 48 is fed into the space 39 after the liquid or the cleaning liquid in the space 39 is almost discharged from the space 39 by the suction of the air.
