PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To construct a backup site to be used for disaster recovery in a much shorter time. SOLUTION: A copy 4 of an RAID group 3 is generated in a disk array device 1 of a main site. A mirror ring in a case body is used for generating the copy. An RAID group 4 is extracted from a disk array device 1 by an operator, and carried in a backup site. The operator mounts each disk of the RAID group 4 on a disk array device 2 in order to set it at the same position as the RAID group 3. Configuration information 5 to be used for managing the RAID group 3 is downloaded through a portable storage medium 8 or a communication network 7 to a disk array device 2 of the backup site. Then, difference data between the disk array devices 1 and 2 are reflected on the disk array device 2, and the construction of the backup site is completed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
