PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an instrument support device for providing smooth operability, while preventing sudden inclination of an arm, during getting down an instrument which is attached to a tip of the arm. SOLUTION: In a parallel link type instrument support device, two links 19, 20 each of which has one end pivoted to a fixed side support body 11 and the other end pivoted to an instrument side support body constitute parallel links, and at least part of a vertical motion of the instrument is performed by rotation of the parallel links. A brake disc 43 is disposed on a circumference around a rotation shaft 37 to which one parallel link 23 of the instrument side support body 35 is pivoted, and the one link 23 is brought into slide-contact with the brake pad 43 and is rotated in a whole rotation range of the link 23. Projecting means 41, 42 means for making the brake pad 43 outward when the instrument is moved downward is disposed to the instrument side support body 35. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
