<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve following performance to variations in a recorded state, by obtaining a recorded state detection index for improving stability to variations in temperature or the like and detection sensitivity in recorded states also for many kinds of optical disks and optical disk devices. <P>SOLUTION: A method for calculating the recorded state detection index is used to obtain an index Rm for detecting the recorded state of the optical disk, when recording information on the optical disk. The peak section and stable section are set to be a light intensity level Spk and a light intensity level Sp, respectively, for detection in the reflection light intensity of a laser beam with irradiation power Pw1 for generating a pit section. A coefficient (n) and a correction coefficient (a) of the light intensity level Spk are added to it, and the index Rm is obtained from an expression Rm=Spk×a×n-Sp. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
