AUTOMATIC IP ADDRESS GRANTING METHOD/PROGRAM/RECORDING MEDIUM/DEVICE/SYSTEM, CHASSIS MANAGEMENT DEVICE AND CONTROL CARD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically grant IP addresses of control cards in the form of being able to recognize the IP address of the control card of each mounting position continuously by users.

SOLUTION: When having been mounted, the control cards (10 to 13) transmit MAC addresses to a chassis management system 2. Then, the chassis management system 2 detects the mounted positions of the control cards. The chassis management system 2 transmits the mounted positions of the mounted control cards and the MAC address to the IP address automatically granting device (DHCP server) 4. The DHCP server 4 holds the relationship between the MAC addresses of the mounted control cards and the IP addresses. When having received IP address granting requests containing the MAC addresses from the mounted control cards, the DHCP server 4 grants IP addresses corresponding to the MAC addresses received.
