<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely control the recording power of a light source. <P>SOLUTION: By the control of a CPU 7, a drive current for predetermined light emitting power is supplied to the light source 1, the emitted light volume level is detected, the differential efficiency of the light source 1 is computed based on the detected light volume level. The light emitting power is estimated to make the light source 1 emit the predetermined light volume based on the computed differential efficiency. When controlling the supply of the drive current of the estimated power to the light source 1, a predetermined correction drive current is supplied to the above predetermined light emitting power to compensate the decrease in the level of the light volume emitted from the light source 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
