PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To certainly deliver a cable by desired length with small power. SOLUTION: In the cable length switching device, when a system comprising a marine sensor 25; a surfacing part 2; and a hanging down part 13 is thrown down, a slide shaft 6A is moved by a compression coil spring 8 to fix the corresponding hook 16A, for example, by flowing a current to a heat generation body 12A and burning/cutting a burning-out string 9A. At the time, a snap pin 17A connected to the hook 16A is removed from a retaining part 18 by descending of the hanging down part 13 to release the engagement with a lock spring 22A and thereby, the lock spring 22A is fitted to the corresponding retaining spring 21A and a cable length switching cord 20A inserted to the retaining spring 21A is retained. Thereby, the cable 26 is paid out to a position where one end of the cable length switching cord 20A is fixed. Similarly in the cable length switching device, when the burning-out string 9B or 9C is burned/cut, the cable 26 is delivered to the position where one end of the cable length switching cord 20B or the cable length switching cord 20C is fixed and when the burning-out strings 9A, 9B, 9C are not burned/cut, the cable 26 is paid out over the whole length.
