<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas treatment unit that is used for a bag filter, enables stable decomposition of predetermined substances, and enables improvement in exhaust gas treatment efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: After passing through a filter medium 27, exhaust gas flows into fine voids 6 from the peripheral surface 4 side of an exhaust gas treatment unit 1, passes through the fine voids 6, and then flows to the inner peripheral surface 5 side. A predetermined substance 7 contained in the exhaust gas that has passed through the filter medium 27 is caused to come into contact with and adsorbed by a predetermined catalyst 7 while passing through the voids 6 and then decomposed by a decomposition reaction by the predetermined catalyst 7. The exhaust gas treatment unit 1 has a predetermined thickness between the peripheral surface 4 and the inner peripheral surface 5. Thus, an area to which exhaust gas is caused to come into contact with the predetermined catalyst 7 when the exhaust gas passes between the peripheral surface 4 and the inner peripheral surface 5 can be increased. Furthermore, because of such fine voids 6, exhaust gas can be caused to efficiently come into contact with the predetermined catalyst 7 and thus the decomposition rate of a predetermined substance can be improved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
