PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal bar member having columnar protrusions, on which oil, water, sediment, pebbles and the like dropped on a grating or the like are hardly accumulated, which shows good appearance, does not require a large scale equipment such as hot rolling, easily provides a sense of beauty since no oxidized scale is attached unlike hot rolling, can be manufactured easily and efficiently, and has a great slip preventive effect in all directions, and a manufacturing method therefor. SOLUTION: The metal bar member having the plurality of protrusions is characterized in that it is provided with the protrusions all over a surface, and that a rolling screw-down surface around the columnar protrusions is shallower in a center than in both ends thereof, in a width direction.
