PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device having excellent steering property at a low cost by making torque fluctuation be located in a phase region on a side for reducing steering torque in the vicinity of a maximum steering angle requiring steering torque most when performing a steering wheel operation by utilizing torque fluctuation generated in a steering system by improving a joint structure of an intermediate shaft, etc. constituting a steering system, without the necessity of using a motor of large capacity. SOLUTION: In this steering device, the steering system from a steering shaft to a steering gear part via the intermediate shaft are connected by a joint, and torque fluctuation is caused by the joint. The position of the maximum steering angle of the steering wheel is set in a region where a transmission torque ratio (steering torque on the steering shaft side/transmission torque on the steering gear part side) of the torque fluctuation becomes≤1.0.
