<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope smoothly guided to an object portion such as an affected part indwelled with a marker. <P>SOLUTION: A grip part 41 in a rigid endoscope 21 having an objective lens 2 at a distal end 40a of a rigid insertion part 40 is detachably mounted with a sense coil unit 43 incorporating sense coils Cx, Cy and Cz electromagnetically detecting the position of an indwelled marker indwelled in the affected part or the like. Each rigid endoscope 21 incorporates an IC memory 69 written with specific information such as the length of each insertion part 40.
