Headgear preferably in the form of a cap comprising a hood 3 and a lining 4 which is partially fixed to the hood along one edge 33 and partially loose, the loose edge 42 having a flexible reinforcing member such as whalebone (50, fig 3B). Preferably in normal use the loose lining edge 42 extends along the hood edge and the hood 3 may be provided with a turn-up band 36 to cover the loose lining edge 42. The loose edge 42 may extend along 180 degrees of the hood edge 34. A method of opening the loose lining edge 42 and using the pocket created between the hood 3 and lining 4 to store objects 60 has also been claimed. The headgear may be used by magicians to hide and reveal objects 60.
