PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid a restriction by the upper limit voltage of a power supply and allow an observation at high magnification sensitivity in an endoscope having a solid-state image sensing device varying the sensitivity by impressing a voltage signal. SOLUTION: A driver 74 for outputting sensitivity control pulsesϕCMD for controlling the sensitivity of a CCD is supplied with a power supply via voltage regulators 78 and 79 for adjusting positive/negative voltages from a power supply device to predetermined voltages and outputs pulses of positive/negative polarities from the driver 74. The pulses with positive/negative polarities outputted from the driver 74, while retaining the amplitude, are shifted to the positive side by a clamp circuit 90, fixed to reference level and outputted to the CCD as the sensitivity control pulsesϕCMD. This constitution can avoid the restriction by the upper limit voltage of the power supply and allow the observation at the high magnification sensitivity. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
