PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To position a photoconduction member at an appropriate position even if heights of light emitting elements become uneven with respect to an image detector for irradiating a detection target with light from the light emitting elements and outputting a detection signal in accordance with received light by receiving the light from the detection target with a light receiving means. SOLUTION: The image detector has: light emitting diode chips 30-1 to 30-3 for emitting light towards a fingertip 1, a light receiving element 42 for receiving the light from the fingertip 1 to output the detection signal in accordance with the light; and a photoconduction member 80 which is provided between the light emitting diode chips 30-1 to 30-3 and the fingertip 1 and conducts light beams from the light emitting diode chips 30-1 to 30-3 to the fingertip 1. An adhesive layer 101 having light transmittance and elasticity is arranged between the light emitting diode chips 30-1 to 30-3 and the photoconduction member 80. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
