PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a display, device in which parasitic capacitance between a pixel electrode and a source bus line is reduced, as much as possible. SOLUTION: A shield electrode 31 is mounted in the vicinity of the pixel electrode 21 and the source bus line 18. The shield electrode 31 is formed on the same layer as that for a gate bus line 15 or on the same layer as that for the source bus line 18. The shield electrode 31 is optionally surrounded by an insulating material on the periphery and is optionally connected to a wire other than the source bus line 18. Because such a shield electrode 31 is mounted on the display device, the parasitic capacitance between source and drain between the pixel electrode 21 and the source bus line 18 is reduced.
