<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a titanium oxide doped with another element showing a high catalytic activity even in a visible light at a long wavelength side and its producing method and a photocatalyst with a high activity. <P>SOLUTION: The carbon-doped titanium oxide is a titanium oxide doped with carbon. Preferably, the carbon atom is doped as a carbon ion. The carbon-doped titanium oxide is produced by calcining a mixture of a titanium compound having oxygen atoms and a carbon source.
