<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell power generation system capable of effectively coping with both startup operation and normal operation of a fuel cell; and to provide a scavenging valve device for a fuel cell power generation system. <P>SOLUTION: This system has: the fuel cells 1; a fuel supply passage 35; an oxidizer supply passage 30; the scavenging valve 5 for scavenging fuel electrodes 11 of the fuel cells 1; and a scavenging valve control part 7 for controlling opening and closing of the scavenging valve 5. In startup operation valve control, the scavenging valve 5 is intermittently opened at a frequency higher than that of normal operation valve control while setting the scavenging valve 5 at an intermediate aperture. In the normal operation valve control, the scavenging valve 5 is intermittently opened at a frequency lower than that of the startup operation valve control while setting the scavenging valve 5 at an aperture larger than the intermediate aperture in the startup operation valve control. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
