The invention relates to an impedance adapter for at least one high-bandwidth transmission channel of a copper-wired terminal system comprising at least a high-bandwidth x-DSL-type modem (M) and at least one jack connection (P, P1, P2, P3) for automatically adapting a high-bandwidth transmission channel impedance depending on whether the modem is connected or not to the connection jack of the system. The inventive adapter comprises an adjusting module (10) for inserting a terminal impedance into the jack connection (P, P1, P2, P3) when it is not connected to said high-bandwidth modem (M) and a coupling module (20) for connecting the adjusting module (10) when the high-bandwidth modem (M) is connected to said jack connection (P, P1, P2, P3), thereby transforming the impedance inserted into the connection jack in such a way that that it becomes transparent for a high-bandwidth transmission of wideband services. |
