PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seismic isolation device with a long life having functions of automatic resetting and increasing friction force according to a moving quantity being easy to adjust and simple in structure having no fluctuation of the friction force and capable of maintaining a friction force property. SOLUTION: The seismic isolation device is constituted by making the distance between the lower plate side planar face 4a of an upper plate side guide rod 4 slidingly guided by an upper plate 8 side guide 6 and the upper plate side planar face 5a of a lower side guide rod 5 slidingly and contactingly guided by a lower plate 9 side guide 7 constant and providing an attenuation device 25 comprising a slide contact pad 12 slidingly contacting the lower upper plate side planar surfaces and an elastic member (a disk spring) 14. One of the attenuation device 23, 24 for side faces can be constituted of a slide and contact face 18, a gap 15 is formed between a slide and contact pad or the slide and contact face and the guide rod in an original position and attenuation devices having slide and contact pads 17 for side faces slidingly contacting to the side faces 5b of the guide rods and elastic members 16 for the side face are arranged.
