<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring system for gene expression applicable to the human body, which is safe and has excellent quantitativity since in a conventional system using a reporter gene such as luciferase, GFP (Green Fluorescent Protein), etc., monitoring of gene expression in a small animal or a body surface part is carried out, however, monitoring of gene expression of deep part of body is difficult due to insufficient detection sensitivity and quantitativity. <P>SOLUTION: Monitoring of expression of an objective gene in vivo is noninvasively carried out from outside the body by using the ligand binding region of a wild type or variant type estrogen receptor as a receptor and estrogen, an estrogen agonist or antagonist labeled with F-18 having affinity for an estrogen receptor ligand binding region as a tracer as the combination of a reporter gene and PET (Positron Emission Tomography) tracer for detecting it. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
