<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium having data area exclusive for partial reproduction and superior in reproduction signal characteristics at each position of a plurality of recording layers. <P>SOLUTION: A first substrate 11 at the irradiation side of recording/reproducing laser light, a first recording layer 21 formed of organic dye, a first reflective layer, a transmissive intermediate layer, a second recording layer 22 formed of organic dye, a second reflective layer, and a second substrate 12 are stacked in this order. In the optical recording medium 1, the first recording layer 21 includes an area 21A exclusive for first reproduction for reproducing recorded information and a first recordable area 21B capable of recording/reproducing information, and the second recording layer 22 includes an area 22A exclusive for second reproduction for reproducing recorded information and a second recordable area 22B capable of recording/reproducing information, wherein the area 21A and the area 22A do not overlap each other when viewed from the side of the first substrate 11 or from the side of the second substrate 12. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
