<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a commodity identification information management system and a commodity identification information management method, allowing attachment of identification information of an independent system not depending on identification information of one system to a commodity, and allowing association of the identification information between two systems. <P>SOLUTION: A bar code 104 and an RF tag 105 as the identification information of two systems attached to the commodity 103 are associated and read by an input device 112 of a commodity purchase department 107, are stored in first and second databases 115, 116 of an information management department 108, and are managed. When a request for prescribed information is issued from a user terminal such as a commodity information terminal 118, on the basis of the bar code 104 of the commodity, for example, one or both of the first and second databases 115, 116 are referred to, and the information is returned to the user side.
