PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-processor system for improving the memory access performance of a case in which inter-cache transfer is performed. SOLUTION: This multi-processor system is configured by connecting a plurality of CPUs commonly having a memory, through a network, to cells 104a to 104d having a consistency controller 102. This consistency controller 102 is provided with a requesting means 107 which issues an access request and a speculation access request, a home means 108 for receiving the access request from the requesting means of each cell, an owner means 109 for receiving the speculation access request from the requesting means of each cell. The requesting means is provided with an owner deciding means 110 for predicting a cell in which the requested data are stored and a deciding means 111 for deciding whether processing based on prediction should be executed.
