PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration control damper exhibiting sufficient damping performance with simple structure and changing little in damping performance in relation to the ambient temperature change. SOLUTION: This vibration control damper is provided with a first sliding member 11 having recessed parts gradually reduced in opening area from an intermediate part toward a lateral direction, and a second sliding member 12 smaller in breadth than the first sliding member 11 and disposed on top of the recessed parts of the intermediate part of the first sliding member. The plane shape of the recessed part provided at the first sliding member 11 is polygonal or circular shape gradually reduced in opening area from the intermediate part of the first sliding member 11 toward both ends. The plane shape of the polygonal recessed part is formed by arranging a combination of a quadrangular recessed part 14 and a hexagonal recessed part 13, or a plurality of circles of different sizes so that the opening area is gradually reduced from the intermediate part of the sliding member toward both ends in a moving direction.
