PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out dyeing of a cylindrical work such as a hat. SOLUTION: A dyeing apparatus is composed as follows. The surface 16b in the circumferential direction of the cylindrical work 16 held by a moving member movable in the shaft direction and rotatable integrally with the shaft is subjected to a leveling treatment during relative movement for an ink jet mechanism 13 of the moving member and then dyed with an ink jetted from the ink jet mechanism 13.
