ELECTROSTATIC ATOMIZER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrostatic atomizer in which a mineral component contained in water is not precipitated/deposited on a water absorption body. SOLUTION: The electrostatic atomizer is provided with a water tank 1 for storing water for atomization; an application electrode 2 for applying a voltage to the water; the water absorption body 3 contacted with the water and provided with an atomization part 31 at one end; and a counter electrode 4 opposing to the atomization part 31 of the water absorption body 3. Water sucked up from the water tank 1 by the water absorption body 3 is electrostatically atomized at the atomization part 31 of the water absorption body 3. A variable means 5 for varying a transpiration area of the water absorption body at application of the voltage or at non-application of the voltage is provided. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
