<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of accurately correcting a main-scanning magnification error in a short time by reducing the number of times of measuring. <P>SOLUTION: This image forming apparatus comprises two synchronous detection means 14, 15 for aligning in a main scanning direction provided in a laser beam scanning device 1 at a top end side and a rear end side of a position of an image, respectively and a temperature detection sensor 27. The image forming apparatus is equipped with a controller 29 that performs two-point synchronous measuring by using the synchronous detection means 14, 15 with respect to several points of temperatures and predicts an amount of position shift to be corrected with respect to the temperature according to the detected result of the temperature detection sensor 27. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
