PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten rising time from power-on to a photographing ready state. SOLUTION: The camera is equipped with a power supply switch, a display, an imaging system including an image sensor, a volatile storage device, a power supply switch monitoring component, and a processing circuit coupled with the power source switch, the display, the image sensor, the volatile storage device and the power supply switch monitoring component. The camera performs warm sleep sequence 90 that the operation of the power supply switch is detected 91 when the camera is turned on, the volatile storage device is set to a low power self-refresh mode 95, and the power to the components except the volatile storage device and the power supply switch monitoring component is turned off 96, then the processing circuit is instructed 97 to start a low power consumption halt state for making the camera in a warm sleep state 98, and includes processing algorithm carried out in the processing circuit.
